Stephen begins his journey around Lake Huron from the south end of the Mackinac Bridge. Today is the summer solstice as well as the first anniversary of our marriage. Today is also the culmination of weeks of packing, months of planning, and years of anticipation. A group of friends surprised Stephen at the put in and joined him for the first few miles of paddling on this beautiful summery day.

Great picutres Steve. You look so happy. I am so sorry that I did not get to see you off on Sunday morning and I miss you already. I look forward to seeing you soon with Ruth and the VW bus for a camping party. Love, Denise

    Hi Steve,
I’m glad I drove up to Mackinaw for your send-off. What a beautiful day to start a great adventure. I see you used some of my photos without proper credit. (Lawsuit pending….) Happy anniversary! I’d forgotten that it has been a year. Boy, do you have an understanding wife! We should hire her to give seminars to the wives who “don’t understand” the wanderlust in most men’s souls. I thought about you last night as the rain pounded our roof for hours. Hope you were snug and warm somewhere. I’ll be following your progress, and hope to join you for a bit in September.

Sent birthday wishes to you last night as I sat on the deck watching the lighning shower come from the west. Before the much needed rain, the skies sparkled with stars as a beautiful orange crescent moon slipped away. It doesn’t get much better than this … well, maybe it does … resting on the shores of Lake Huron under the same glorious sky with your beautiful bride at your side knowing she supports every stroke of your paddle on your Great Lake adventure! :)

Enjoying the tracking facility and watching your progress. Slather on the sunscreen when the sun shines.

    Good Morning Steve,
Hope things are now as calm on Lake Huron as they are here in Little Traverse Bay on the dawn of July 4th. May your paddle strokes be strong and the currents at your back on this glorious day! In celebration of our great country, its founders and the many caretakers who are creating its future today.

    Paddle on!
    Bret

    Steve,
Happy Independence Day! Wayne and I met for breakfast in Alanson this morning, as we have on July 4th for the past 15 or 20 years. The Boy Scouts put on a fund raiser that is hard to beat. We had to meet early, since Wayne is swamped with work at the marina this week. I hope you’re somewhere tonight where you can see some fireworks. The weather here is perfect, and should continue for at least a week. Hope you see lots of the same.

    Hi
Hope you had a nice 4th and all is still going well for you. We will miss you in Branson (home of hillbilly). The last time we were together was going down that creek at the reunion. I love the pics and have set one up for my background.

Car shopping is stressful. Now that there are hundreds of makes and models to choose
from, not to mention promotions and payment options, it’s easy to become frustrated and stressed out. The information here will help make buying a car as easy and stress-free as possible.
